Juicy And Hot Whispers

BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, top the list of government institutions where whispers, rumors, gossips, make rounds the most, as compared with the rest. And there are reasons to smile too. I am back after a 'break' to make the 1700 strong list of viewers of this blog have a last laugh.

A little bird informed me that there was much fireworks in the Dean, BJMC office on Monday morning. The reason, the Dean, had burnt his fingers by engaging himself in a debate with a veteran journalist and RTI activist. Doctors G, P, T, S, D, B, and few residents were discussing the topic of the war of words between the Dean and the veteran journalist in the College canteen. " Oh, he got the best from the journalist. The poor Dean, has the habit of putting his foot in his mouth," said one of them. There was a big laughter amongst the doctors. "The Dean is only making mockery of himself. Last week, he got a hell from a Congress legislator, and this time from the seasoned journalist," said one of the senior old doctor, adding that it appears that the days of the Dean are outnumbered, as close aides of a senior minister are also gunning for him. Anyhow, the journalist gave his piece of mind to the Dean. 'You don't try to teach the teacher his subjects, is the moral of this piece.

A ENT doctor had the misfortune of getting humilated and a dressing drown from the Dean. The poor doctor's only mistake was that he had commited the biggest crime of wearing a 'Tie' and coming for the College Council meeting. "It is only the monopoly of the Dean to wear a tie, and he hates others wearing the Tie. By God, I swear it would be a hell for anyone trying to break the monopoly and wear the tie," said a doctor.

Whispers were also doing the round as to how a ENT surgeon got a reprimand from the Dean for wearing a towel round his lower body and going for a bath. This doctor living in a hostel with his family, and appointed as a Rector, was rushing for a bath with the towel wrapped around his navel. Absoulately nothing abnormal in this. But some of the resident doctors complained to the Dean about this. The result - the Amitabh Bachchan kind of beard doctor got a notice from the Dean. Poor guy, what should he do, go into the bathroom with his suit on for the bath? Serving of a notice on such an matter, is nothing but improper action on part of the Dean, at which all are talking and making fun of the decision.

True or not, but rumors are making round that two female senior officials of the BJMC have complained in writing about the sexual harrassment by a senior administrative official of the institution. The report of this gone to the DMER, is alleged to have been buried down in the files and no action has been taken on it. Anyway, if what is rumored to be true, than this would loom in a big disaster for the head of the institution.

A majority of the doctors in the hospital from the teaching and non-teaching staff, are of the view that the Dean should not have been brought back, as he has served more than 28 years at a stretch in the institution. Some doctors have approached veteran social activist Shri. Anna Hazare recently at his place in Ralegaon Siddhi and apprised him about the long tenure. It was brought to Shri Anna Hazare notice that the Dean's return after a three month break to be back in Pune, violates and defeats the very purpose of the Maharashtra Government ServantsRegulation of Transfers and Prevention of Delay in Discharge of OfficialDuties Act, 2005, which was proposed by him. Anna is said to have assured the doctors of taking it up with the Chief Minister soon. Whispers are also floating around that veteran advocate and social activist Saleem Shaikh has talked about his making file inspection relating to the posting of the Dean and the file notings. The conclusion the arms of the laws are long enough to put the rope around the neck of those who play with it.

A senior doctor was heard saying that he would not ever like to be in the seat of the Dean. It is a hot seat. Here you can get only abuses and humilation. Every politician bugs the person in the Dean's seat. From a municpal councillor, to legislator, to the MP, not to forget the political head of parties and the bureaucrats. The politicians are the one are to be feared most. They can paint your face black, make you ride on a donkey, hurt you, humilate and abuse you, besides using unparliamentary language. And you cannot do anything. So why become a victim of all such things and be disgraced? he said. Yes, it sounds true. The Dean's post is full of pin pricks, and the bureaucrats would not protect you, for they would not wish to antogonize their political masters in the government. A lesson to be learnt for all Deans from the case of a former Dean of the institution who got a rap from the State Information Commission and his pension has been stopped. That is the power of RTI.

People tired of "Pinak, Pinak Pinak"

If you wish to have some fun and entertainment in Sassoon hospital or the BJ Medical College - you just have to spend some time with Dr. P.S. Pawar, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital.

Here he would kill you with his claims of his self acclaimed drug PINAK, which he boasts of treating and saving lives of people bitten by deadly snakes and scorpions - ofcourse he fails to substainate it with proven medical records or evidences.

He continues with his rants and rants of his claims of his so-called 'wonder drugs' Madhusaar and Pinak. Doctors of the hospital only laugh at his claims and whisper outside his office as "MAD Scientiist Pawar." Even his own RMO's including a equally loud mouthed lady RMO makes fun of him. Said a doctor, if he has a miracle drug to treat and cure Diabetes, then what is Pawar doing here? He should get a Noble Prize!!!

Three of his RMO's making fun of their boss Dr. Pawar in the company of some Head of Departments outside his office in the porch area said " Oh, all his claims are rubbish, he has gone crazy,he kills our mind and time with his senseless claims, and his targets and foul mouthing is Dr. Db Kadam, HOD, Medicine, and earlier it had been Dr. Kakrani. More foolish, they said were his outbursts against the doctors who did not concur with his views and claims. May be some day, they said, Dr. Pawar would go mad and run around like a mad dog biting doctors particularly Dr. Kadam.

Dr. Pawar claims are just void. How many of the patients who had taken his Madhusar medicine for diabetes returned back and claimed that they were cured? None. And still he wants doctors to accept his claims? Foolish.

Now, it is heard that tired of not getting anywhere with his claims, Dr. Pawar appears to be a frustrated person. He made another fool of himself by claiming two months ago that he was selected to replace Dr. Doiphode as the Deputy Director of Health Services.

Hahahahahah - despite telling the whole world of his going to the new post, there is no news of it even to this day. Dr. Pawar has put his foot in his mouth by making his own publicity and giving an opportunity to the people to laugh and mock at him.

A doctor, making fun of Dr. Pawar going to grab the post of DD, which controls four district said " it's not a easy task. DD post is no joke, it needs a strong, intelligent and powerful person with a strong administrative skills. Dr. Pawar has failed like Dr. Jamkar in the hospital, where he wags his tail before his detractors, and cannot discipline his own deputy medical superintendent and succumbs before him, where he cannot instill discipline in his own RMO's who mock at him and ignore his instructions, so how can such a weak and mentally unstable person, be able to handle such a sensitive post of the Deputy Director of PHD," the doctor asked.

There are reasons to feel sorry for Dr. Pawar. But like his boss in the hospital Dr. Arun Jamkar, this doctor with high hopes and aspirations, has only made a fool of himself. What more disgusting it can be when his own team of RMO's make fun of him behind his back and in the company of other hospital doctors.

Dr. Pawar, yes, you are simple but naive. You should seal your mouth. Your rattlings will only cause you more harm than good. You have to prove that you have the ability to control and take charge of things, have the strong capability to discipline your subordinates including Dr. Burute, Dr. Dhase, Dr. Shinde, Dr. Shelar, Dr. Sardesai, Dr. Mrs. Todmal and her husband, the aggressive and impolite Dr. Todmal.

Dr. Pawar, you no longer have the help of the one and only dynamic subordinate Dr. Shetty. You are surrounded more by incompetent and indiscipline team of staff, over whom you have lost control or do not have control. You have to prove to the doctors who demand evidence for your drugs, instead of bashing them without reason.

So,its time to reform Dr. Pawar, and once done, your collegues would come forward happily to help you in every manner.

Dr.Arun Jamkar a failed administrator?

I'm back after a much needed break. In my long absence many juicy but authentic whispering had been doing the rounds in the state government run Sassoon General Hospital.
The high profilic Dr. Arun Jamkar had applied the "Vanishing Cream" and according to whispers in the hospital campus, Dr. Arun Jamkar had gone to the USA on vacation to be with his son. Whether he was accompanied by his wife Maya, is not known, but what is known is that he is on the way back to be in chair by July 5.

Professors, lecturers and doctors at the hospital and the BJ Medical College have the short relief as Dr. Jamkar is not there to trouble them with some "idiotic decisions." Tongue in cheek all whisper as well concur that Dr. Jamkar is a 'failed administrator' who is in the present post solely due to his political connections and being a lackey of the director of DMER. This is his only quality. Doctors in the hospital also vouch and speak in hush tones, that Dr. Jamkar has no professinal abilities.

Well, in a democracy, people have the liberty and freedom to express their opinions. You cannot dare throttle the freedom of the people or curb their expression. That's what demorcracy is all about.

But with a inefficient administrator better referred to as a 'failed administrator' it is the hospital and the institution that suffers, the poor patients suffer, while the political masters who put inefficient administrators are not doing any service to the people.

When we talk of a 'failed administrator' in Dr. Jamkar, there are valid reasons. He has many weaknesses. He does not honor nor is true to his words and committments. He breaks promises and backtracks, more buckles under threats from his subordinates, and in the process reverts his own decisions, putting blame on others for the mess and nuisances which he himself creates and is responsible. He is not firm and upright. And more than benefits the hospital and institution, both have suffered more during his tenure with a Dean "imposed" rather than with a

Dean that is selected on merits, and not on political influence.
It is said that good people that are long remembered bow out of their office in glory, while those with tainted image, depart from their posts in disgrace and are ignored and treated shabbily after retirement. We don't know which choice Dr. Jamkar would make, while he is saddled in his present post not for a long perod - not more than a year for sure.

TAILPIECE; Dr. Jamkar was caught napping, when he did not even knew when the distinguished and affable doctor, the RMO of Sassoon hospital Dr. Dinesh has put in his papers for VRS and when he was to say good bye to the hospital.

Situation in Sassoon Hospital deteriorates to point of no return

Panic prevailed this morning (Wednesday, June 17, 2009) at 11 in the Sassoon Hospital campus, right near the offices of the Dean and Medical Superintendent, when a horde of people were found screaming an chasing a man, alleged to have stabbed a hospital employee with a knife. Later, a morcha of the employees met the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar and protested about the failed security system in the hospital.

The worst part of the incident was that though people were screaming and running behind the alleged accused, and asking the security people at the gate to nab the culprit, it is said that instead of stopping the culprit, the security staff at the gate showed cowardice and ran away themselves to save their life.

Some angry hospital staff and doctors were whispering that all this is happening in the hospital due to a failed administration and an incompetent Dean imposed on the hospital by some political leaders and bureaucrats. Patients, resident doctors, nurses, visitors, and even the head of departments of the hospital have been complaining for years about the lack of security in the hospital and students hostel. Nothing has been done to provide a full-proof security system, said a senior head of the department.

A look at the physique of the security personnel in the hospital premises, would make any one laugh. A shabby uniform and weak body structure makes them appear as if they are some kind of street beggars and not security staff. Another senior doctor said that if money is provided for hiring security personnel why not have the best that is available. A security man should have a strong body structure which would make even a criminal think twice of doing a criminal act. Here, the security staff does not even have a ordinary stick, forget arms and ammunitions, which of course are not required.

And then whispers are also doing round making mockery of the Dean of having pulled up one security men to perform the duty as his bodyguard. What is the wisdom of having a body guard for the Dean, was a question that was asked by one of the doctors in a group. The Dean is only making mockery of himself and downgrading the image of the hospital. The bodyguard for the Dean is a big joke. Why does he need a bodyguard and from whom does he have threat perception? Questioned another doctor.

It is high time that the government intervenes and takes serious stock of the situation before getting rap from the Citizens of Pune. From the prevailing situation that exists, it is turning from worst to worst and the only way to streamline the administration is the need to pack off the Dean, the Chief Administrative Officer and the Deputy Medical Superintendent who is incharge of employees affairs in the hospital. These all the three have proved more of a liability then an asset. The earlier they go, the better for the hospital and the medical institution. Let,s not wait for the situation to go out of hand, and then wait for the legislators to put Legislature Assembly Questions (LAQ) and embarrass the government.

It time to act now. Better late then never, should be the moral of the story of the hospital.

OPEN LETTER TO HON. CHIEF MINISTER ASHOK CHAVAN

Mr. Chief Minister: Sassoon Hospital is really "Stinking" now

Sir, its the misfortune of the people of Pune to have a badly administered but the best hospital in Asia, the Sassoon General Hospital, clogged in the worst ever situation that prevails now. It's also the people's misfortune to have a highly corrupt and incompetent doctors at the helm of affairs. And the least said about the politicians, be it ministers, members of the legislature, council, members of parliament or even the local municipal councillors. No one is interested at the hell that has been prevailing here for number of years.

The regular media drubbing and vocal and harsh criticism of the hospital management has no impact on a inefficient, highly corrupt, arrogant, incompetent and shameless administration of the Sassoon General Hospital, which has the only 'glory' of being in the news for all wrong reasons, be it corruption, negligence, hordes of scams, illegal structures by private parties or issuing of age certificates at a premium.

Despite an Tranfer Act, which makes it manadatory for every official to be transferred every three years, this has been thrown to the winds. There are several doctors who refuse to leave and stay glued to their posts for several years. Ninety percent of the doctors have remain untransferred between 10 to 29 years, that include the present Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar. This exhibits how good a so-called "most progressive state of the country is Maharashtra," where the law is flouted with an blind eye.

Dr. Arun Jamkar has proved not to be a good administrator at all in the given sitatuation, where he is unable to reign in discipline and root out the 'open' corruption. He has failed miserably to take disciplinary action against those gound guilty, more out of fear. His biggest weakness is that he is incapable of taking a firm decision on any issue and has to depend on his incomptent advisors, that include an allegedly 'misfit' Chief Administrator Officer Bardare and Administration Officer KT Sukase. The most funny aspect is that Dr. Arun Jamkar does not even mind to take the advise of junior clerks.

Sir, do this hospital need such an incapable and joker kind of administrator as an Dean? Certainly not, would be the answer, but then still the biggest hospital of Asia has such people. And then it is whispered in the corridors of the hospital and BJ Medical College, that Dr. Jamkar boasts of your support as well as that of Dr. WB Tayday, the Director of DMER and more of the secretary medical education Dr. Gagrani. People laugh at him when he throws the names of such personalities.

Newspapers every day speak out of the corruption in the corridors of the Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. PB Burute, about the agents and his lackeys crowding his office corridors. Employees of the hospital, who are his lackeys, are found missing from their job places and camping in the officer corridors of the Deputy Medical Superintendent. The Dean is aware of all the nefarious activities that take place here, but is helpless to root out the things from here. Why is he so incapable to act against the Deputy Medical Superintendent, who is alleged to be 'openly' corrupt? Why he is lacking in discipling him or recommending his return back to the Public Health Department.

Sir,God help the hospital, as there are rumors and whispers of a far greater corrupt medical superintendent coming in soon here to replace the existing medical superintendent. There are strong rumors that this medical superintendent, presently in a government hospital in Aundh is allegedly said to have paid more than Rs. 20 lakhs to get a posting at Sassoon. Just imagine, what performance he would do here then to recover the money he spent to get a posting in Sassoon General Hospital.

The medical education secretary Dr. Bhsuhan Gagrani, who showed intial great interest during the time of minister Mr. Dilip Walse Patil, today appears to have lost the interest, perhaps knowing that everything positive is futile over here.

The need of the day is for your personal interventation into the sad affairs that would ruin this hospital. People are already making noises in the columns of newspaper. And it should be borne in mind that the Assembly elections are not far away. A gross negligence would uproot the apple cart of the ruling party for sure. People cannot be taken for granted. If a govenrment fails to understand the health problems of the poor people, than nothng can save the ruling party from getting a drubbing at the polls.

In the overall interest of the people of Pune and that of the hospital, it is necessary that the Dean, the Deputy Medical Superintendent, the Chief Administrative Officer and the Administrative Officer are transferred and replaced by upright officials with clean image.

The Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar has to sink or swim

What is dithering the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar from taking disciplinary action

Whispers doing the round in the Sassoon General Hospital and the BJ Medical College is about the meek attitude of the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar from taking strong disciplinary action against the Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. P.B. Burute.

A little bird says that Dr. Jamkar has a snobbish attitude and a tendency to first act strong and then bow and plead forgiveness from staff against whom he had initiated action. "He is a very weak and failed administrator. Much was expected from him, but that has ended in disappointment. Dr. Jamkar lacks the guts, courage and determination to catch the bull by its horn," said a Professor while discussing Dr. Jamkar in the corridors of the Dean's office.

What makes the Dean crumble, tumble and go on his knees in a pleading motion, is not understood. What prevents him from taking a firm and strong disciplinary action against the Deputy Medical Superintendent, against whom there are huge log of evidences for malpractices, corruption, misuse of power and authority in black and white.

The problem as another senior Professor of the college said that Dr. Jamkar has a crotorie of stupid, idiot and ignorant advisors around him. He does not use his own brain though he is on the verge of retirment. The most foolish and incompetent advisor he has is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) said a senior Lecturer.

Nothing will improve in the Sassoon General Hospital or the BJ Medical College, until and unless the Dean corrects himself and excercises his authority and power with an iron hand. A feeble and helpless Dean would only destroy further the already deteoriating image of the hospital and college.

Will the government wake up atleast now? The need of the day is for the Honorable Minister for Finance Mr. Dilip Walse Patil to intervene and advise the government to take immediate steps to streamline a falling administration and administrator.

Who will 'discipline' the 'Undisciplined' in Sassoon Hospital?

Shameless have no shame nor dignity in Sassoon General
आपुन सर्वे निर्लज आणि इम्पोटेंट सरकारी कर्मचारी आहोत तुमाला लज्जा नाही
Enough has been written about the BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. But even the 'choicest words' hurled at them makes no effect on the shameless and impotents in the administration. There cannot be a harsher word attributed to them then labelling them as 'Thick Skinned'.
Look at the scams, negligence, impotent attitude and shameless against them been leashed into the media, a daily affair now, never seen before.
Glance at the front page lead report in today's Loksatta (Wednesday, June 10) by Mustafa Attar, and also a four column report also in todays Pudhari alleging demand of bribe of Rs। 300 for issuing a age certificate. What more shameful exposure can be expected?
Repeatedly allegations of corruption is written in the newspapers and doing whispers in the corridors of the Sassoon General Hospital , that is taking place in the office of th Deputy Superintendent of the hospital, who does not have a good track record. Several doctors and Administrative Officers have advised the Dean of sending him back to his parent department the Public Health Department, to save embarrassment to the hospital and to halt the tarnishing of image of the hospital. Yet, the Dean, being acting as an 'impotent' being submissive dares not to take this step, fearing the Deputy Superintedent.
This raises several questions as to whether the DMER, the Medical Education Department and the Minister are so helpless that they dont have the guts to usher in discipline and tame this Deputy Medical Superitendent who has been hauled even by the Information Commission for giving misleading information to a RTI activist cum journalist of international fame.
The whole doctors community, patients, the media and even ministers are pleading that Dr. DD Shetty should withdraw his VRS, else the hospital will suffer immensely further. What has the Dean and others done to pursue this patient friendly doctor from withdrawing his VRS? None. All are interested in milking money through illegal means, i.e. corruption and scams.
The skeltons have started falling from the cupboard now, scams are coming out in various deals in the hospital. The scam in coffin cupboards of Forensic Medical Department, where cabinets tendered by a renowned Blue Star company was supplied by a Delhi firm as Blu Star. The illegal one floor huge office of the Sofosh, the illegal occupation of accommodation in the premises without government permission by the BJMC Consumer Credit Society, the scam in the PLA funds worth crores, the demolition of old heritage place without prior approval of the Heritage committe of the PMC - the list is endless. So, it is rightly felt that the Dean is responsible for all this situation and should gracefully make his exit rather than be forced to be held guilty in an inquiry and be prosecuted.
The Secretay of the MED and the director of the DMER should also ensure the early exit of the Deputy Superintendent who is caught in the web or alleged corruption. He should not be allowed to stay for a minute more.
The agents and the peon of the Deputy Superintendent, one Balu, the hanky panky man of the Deputy Superintendent should be removed without delay. The office corridors of the Deputy Superintendent which is crowded with agents and employees who are meant to be in their jobs, should be cleared too.
In the given sitaution, its time that the government takes drastic action to clean the mess and send the Dean and the Deputy Superintendent out of the hospital and BJ Medical College, if at all discipline and scams have to be stopped further and the image of the hospital kept intact.
As this blogger, a well wisher of the hospital and BJMC, had repeatedly said, now or never. Its a wake up call. The NCP ministers in the government should also know that the late events about the NCP in the media is not welcomed by the people, and so it would make things more worst during the Assembly polls to be held shortly, in October.
The Chief Minister Ashok Chavan should set up a high level probe panel to look into all the scams and corruption prevailing in the hospital and college।
Now please read the following news item. It reflects how efficient Dean and other administrative officials are there in the hospital and college, particularly the Dean, Dr. Arun Jamkar, who has been glued to his seat here for the past 29 years, throwing to winds the Anna Hazare proposed and adopted law on transfers.

Now its left to the 350 subscribers of this blog to think of the mess in Sassoon and BJ Medical College.

The Forgotten 'Unforgetable" Jacob Sassoon

The Forgotten "Unforgetable" Jacob Sassoon
What a shame for all of us, particularly for the Maharashtra Government and the BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, that we showed ungratefulness to a great Jewish personality Jacob David Sassoon, whose centenary is being celeberated 1909 - 2009 the world over. And we never thought of even thinking of this person who constructed a beautiful building in the Sassoon General Hospital more than a century ago, and which now houses the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgical Theatre and the Burns Ward. More than 120 plus years ago he constructed this building at a cost of Rs. 2,00,000, which may now be more than 20 core in Indian Rupees.

And what did we give him in return as a gratitude for his contribution? Nothing except to forget him for ever. Even his statue in the building is covered with dust and darkness. Did he deserve this reward for his contribution to the Indian people?

Ignoring Jacob Sassoon, and his father David Sassoon for the donation of several acres of land and several beautiful buildings in the Sassoon General Hospital, exhibits our mentality, tendency and ungratefulness. The message goes around to the world about the Indian mindset and only invites criticsm and slurs the image of our country. But then, who is interested in what the world says about the Indians? We are thick skinned, is the message that goes to the global community.

Forgetting a person like Jacob Sassoon, is a graveous mistake. We cannot get away with the idiom of saying "People's memory is short." This is not only gross negligence on part of the officials of Sassoon General Hospital, but a serious error on part of the officials which deserves no forgiveness but punishment and more condemnation.

Dr. Bhushand Gagrani, Sir, how do you guage this negligence? You have handled a vital department like Tourism, wrote several articles on monuments, heritages, and tourist spots, and thus know the significance of such heritage buildings as of Sassoon General Hospital. Don;t you feel that forgetting Jacob Sassoon during his centenary year is a serious lapse? Don't you feel that this ignorance will put all the Indians to shame and disgrace in the world community? And don't you agree that the officials of Sassoon General Hospital have put the government and the people of India in an embarrassing situation? In my view and in the view of the people at large, yes, it would. Then in an age of accountablity, is it not fair to take necessary action against all those who failed on this front to remember the contribution of Jacob Sassoon in his centerary year which the world is celeberating?

And Dr. Arun Jamkar, this is not the time for you to smile as in the picture. Sir, I had written last time in an earlier blog, that if you are happy receiving bouqets than you should also be prepared to be hit by brickbats for your flaws. Unfortunately, you cannot escape the responsibility of not knowing important historical events associated with the BJMC or the Sassoon General Hospital. As head of the institution and hospital, and more as an administrator, you who has the distinction of serving the hospital for about 30 years, which unfortunately, no other doctor in the hospital holds this distinction, and again, for which you should have not been there according to the law, you cannot absolve yourself from missing out on such an important event.
The problem, as I explained earlier, that you are too busy grooming yourself with flattery and self praise, though you are very weak, to be precise extremly weak on administration front. It would not be wrong to describe you as a 'meek and week' administrator who has no time for uplifting the image of the hospital or knowing what are the important significans of places in the campus. The other problem with you is that you waste your time, energy and talent in involving your self in petty and unproductive politics, playing one professor against another, double speak, incompetent to take strong disciplinary action, not willing to correct yourself and use your skills and political connections to benefit the hospital or the BJMC. Regretfully you are surrounded by illeterate advisors, who tax your brain with their useless and wrong advises to force you make silly and foolish decision, which you later try to retract. You remain fickle minded and so remain a confused person. And rememeber that you have a long way to go. The Avtaar Meher Baba people are roosting for you. They are approaching the Tatas to help them with their issues. You have cooked the Ghoose, Dr. Jamkar.
Forgetting a person like Jacob Sassoon on his centerary, and not remembering him even to this day, makes you unfit to be in the saddle of a Dean and head of the hospital. And now accept the blame gracefully instead of passing the buck on others. The Sassoon Hospital is suffocating. Heritage sites are being demolished to make way for NGOs like Safosh. All this is happening during your tenure. And God knows why the Chief Minister throwing all norms and rules to the wind thought you fit again to head the BJMC and Sassoon General Hospital. And mind well, there are still enough pitfalls for you. Dont leap and shed your tears on the shoulders of others, particularly the CM or the Secretary. Don;'t fire the guns from their shoulder.
You have a very short tenure left, then do something good for the institation and hospital, and depart holding your head high. Look around and see where the best can be done, instead of self patting your back. Stop all the politics and sycophancy. Be upright and honest and execute your work with dignity and justice to all. Don;t bother the CM or the Secretary without your nagging disinformation notes, but make them feel proud of you. Yes agreed, you are a fine gentleman, goody-goody speaking, but not able to take proper and just decisions in any administrative issues.
Now please dont become a liability for others, again for the CM or the Secretary. And dont nag them with your woes and problems. They have more important things to do, rather than spare time for your illogical rattlings. Please, please, do some constructive work, Sir.

All is Well that Ends Well

All is Well that Ends Well

Alas!! Finally the strike by a group of disgruntled resident doctors of Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, has come to an end with victory for the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar and disgrace for the group, with even their own Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors main body supporting the Dean.

CONGRATS Dr. Jamkar, but then this victory would not have been achieved without the support of the Secretary of Medical Education Department Mr. Bhushan Gagrani, the Directorate of Medical Education (DMER) the local politicians in Pune, the Head of Departments of Surgery and Chest and TB, Dr. Sanjiv Thakur and Dr. Ghorpade and above all the most from the support of the people of Pune and the Class III and IV employees Association of the hospital.

It's shame on part of this group of disgruntled resident doctors to have held hostage the 300 other resident doctors of the hospital who did not want to participate in the strike as they rightly felt that there was no issue at all to go on strike. It was also shame that poor patients were also held hostage as they were deprived treatment. The lady resident doctor who is alleged to have made attempt to commit suicide had not reason whatsoever to do so. Why did she made all this drama? Who instigated her to enact these scene? And did she really gulp down the pioson at all? Whispers in the corridor say that she just sprayed the HIT mosquito on her clothes and did not gulp down any pioson. If this whispers is correct, then the most severe action should be taken against her including cancelling her registration.

The DMER should also take drastic action against the disgruntled group of resident doctors that called for the strike. The call of the day is that they deserve no sympathy or leinency but that the DMER should suspend them for a year and even ask them to vacate the hostel. They deserve this punishment, and the Dean should initiate this action without delay. Discipline has to be maintained at all costs. These doctors had turned into goons, and tarnished the noble profession.

To Dr. Jamkar, the people of Pune would defintely like to convey that he has to uphold the prestige of the hospital and BJ Medical College. He has a duty to instil discipline in all sections, and that is the task of a good administrator.

Sir, if there is today bouquets for your good work, but then also be prepared for the brickbats if you fail in your duties and performance. You have to like bureaucrats must know to adopt the carrot and stick policy. Good and upright administrators do not buckle under any kind of pressure or have any fear. You must learn to dispense with justice and not get carried away by hearsay or disinformation or misleading guidance by your subordinates, but use your skills and brain to battle any storm.

And then you have to get rid of the insubordination by the Deputy Superintedent and the alleged corruption that prevails in his office and boot out the large number of agents that throng his office and employees that hang around. And with you being the authority there, what prevents you from making changes in the peons that loom around there, particularly the peon of the Deputy Superintendent one Balu, who is the mastermind behind corruption that takes place there?

Certainly, the hospital does not require a non-performing Deputy Medical Superintendent, who is good for nothing and unable to discharge his duties and job for which he is there. Why prevents or holds you back from recommending to send him back to his parent department and seeking a more performing official? Now or never, is the final message Dr. Jamkar. You will always find support for your good work and streamlining the disorder that has been taking place in the hospital for years,

All the best to you Dr. Arun Jamkar, You have this time proved that nothing is the end of the world if determined and one has a will.

Tame and Shame these striking resident doctors

SHAME AND TAME THESE STRIKING RESIDENT DOCTORS
The shameful acts of the striking doctors of Sasson General Hospital in Pune has been tainted in all the newspapers of Pune on Friday (May, 29). Their disgraceful acts have only tarnished the noble profession. This is the worst day in the history of the Sassoon and BJ Medical College. These doctors have gained no sympathy from the people or even from the large number of resident doctors from other departments, apart from the department of medicine.
The lady doctor who attemtped suicide had no reasons to do so on very petty issue. In fact, whispers floating in the hospital campus hold the lady resident doctor responsible for her own acts. This doctor is said to have a bad reputation of being arrogant and misbehaving with even senior doctors. Now why did she resort to such a drastic step, when the issue was related to her misbehaving with a patient's relative who had done the right thing of complaining to the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar, who witnesses say did not scold but reprimanded her only, which was the right thing to discipline erring doctors like her. Nothing wrong in the Dean's action.
The question is why she justified in taking such a step or was she provoked and instigated to restore of attempting to commit suicide by taking poisionous substance?
Whispers were also heard that all the professors and associate professors of the Medicine Department were behind instigating the resident doctors to go on strike and doing nothing to prevent it. These professors should be taken to task first and shunted out immediately. They are morally responsible for failing to restrain but encourage the striking doctors. They are by all means to be held responsible for letting drift things go so far and bring disrepute to the institution and sufferrings to the thousands of patients and their relatives. They have done an unpardonable act and dis-service to the community and the people. They are criminals in white uniforms.
The people of the city and the media have expressed their support to the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar. He cannot and is not at fault or responsible for the disgraceful act of the lady doctor of attempting to commit suicide. Dr. Jamkar should be commended for taking the right steps to discipline and hear the grievances of the patient.
The striking doctors have done an unpardonable act due to which patients are put to trouble and risk to their lives. All those who had participated in the strike need to be put behind bars and so also the lady doctor. They have no whatsoever support from any quarters. They do not realize the gravity of the situation as to where the people's ire would reach if patients are not attended, may be this may lead the patients to go on rampage and this would create a law and order situation and may be that would also lead to public backlash against the striking doctors.
The state government cannot turn a blind eye and be a mere spectator to the problem. Strong and strong action has to be taken. The government should send a strong message that it cannot be blackmailed. If any lienency is shown, this would lead to more such situations and set a precedent in future.
The best course is for the government to suspend these striking doctors for some years or recommend cancellation of their registration. Enough is enough. Enough dirty linen has been washed related to the murky affairs in the hospital for several years. The buck has to stop somewhere.
Agreed that Dr. Arun Jamkar may have some short comings, but this time, he was perfectly right and was executing his job in public interest. No fault. Hence he is supported by one and all.
The government should send lock, stock and barrel, all those who are a nuisance to the institution, including the Deputy Medical Superintendent, whose track record is worst. He is another element that is bringing disgrace to the hospital and allegedly instigating Class IV employees as well as encouraging corruption.
Please for God's sake uplift your morals and rid the institution of all the nuisances in Sassoon and BJ Medical College.
Jai Maharashtra, Jai Hind.

BLAME GAME - WHO'S THE CULPRIT/

No crime in patting and betting for the best upright people. But then its also equally true to take to task and blast those who fail in their duties. It's pity to see how worst the sitaution continues to prevail in the Sassoon General Hospital, where patients and their relatives are treated.
Recently, I saw a few Head of Departments and few politicians in the corridors of the OPD, expressing dismay over relatives of patients themselves pushing and ferrying patients on the stretcher trolly towards the lift. It was a very disgusting scene indeed. A job which has to be executed by the Class Four ward boys, were being done by relatives of patients, and the wardboys missing. Anyone, who witness such regular scenes at the Sassoon would only have his heart bleed and tears shed from eyes.
I heard the doctors (HODs) telling the politicians that this situation is nothing new, as despite repeated complaints to the hospital administration, nothing is done. "The Superintendent passes the buck to the Deputy Superintendent and the Deputy Superintendent passes the buck on to the Dean." I also heard the doctors telling the politicians that the situation is much more worst, when even resident doctors are forced to ferry the patient and push the medicines trollies all around the hospital, as there are no wardboys.
Now who controls the Class Four employees? According to the medical administration manual its the job of the Deputy Medical Superintendent to oversee all the administrative related issues of the hospital. But then, this Deputy Medical Superintendent, is a law unto himself. A little bird told me, that this Deputy Medical Superintendent has hundreds of memos issued to him by being negligent and moving out of his place of work without permission. Despite such a huge number of adverse reports against him, the administration is sleepy.
Its the job and moral responsibility of the Dean of the Sassoon and BJ Medical College to ensure that things move for better and not worst and that patients are not made to suffer on account of negligence in administration, particularly by the Deputy Medical Superintendent. Its the job of the Dean Arun Jamkar to put a check on the Deputy Medical Superintendent, and move him out, if he is failing in his duty and is found negligent. Why not bring in a productive and good DMS in place of the incumbent. And why is the Dean not taking steps to take suitable action againt the DMS when the prevailing picture of irresponsibility of the DMS is visibily clear.
Over to the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar.

Shabash Dr. Arun Jamkar

SHABASH DR. ARUN JAMKAR
Any good work is always appreciated, and so is the good work that is being done by Dr. Arun Jamkar, the Dean of the BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital. Those who reform and perform better definitely need a pat on their back. We can say 'Well Done" and compliment the person, so that he can produce more better results. We also believe in the dictum that to err is human and to forgive is divine.
Dr. Arun Jamkar, has learnt a lot from the past errors and fillip flops. He has now a changed person, a man in hurry, who is trying to rectify his previous faults and reform. Fantastic and Excellent. Dr. Jamkar is now adopting to the stick and carrot policy. Lately he has taken some very commendable steps, particularly of ushering in discipline and taking to task those who had failed to correct themselves.
Dr. Jamkar perhaps want to leave a lasting impression of his good work, as he has few months to go for his retirement. He would like to bow out with grace and not disgrace for sure. We all agree that miracles cannot happen suddenly and in short time, and therefore Dr. Jamkar would also need time to prove his administrative skills and effect changes. Whatever changes he had done for the betterment of the hospital and institution is commendable. Like every human being he also has some shortcomings, which hopefully he would change and reform - that of double speak.
Those who have interacted with him during his second innings as the Dean, would agree that Dr. Jamkar is all set to make changes in all sections and usher in transparency and accountablity in his administration. There are some minor flaws in his administration which need to set right, but with given time, he would effect that too, particularly the open corruption that prevails in the office of the Deputy Superintedent, where the hanky panky work is done by his peon Balu. The Deputy Superintendent is a complete failure and does not even attend to his job profile. Whispers in the corridors boom that the Deputy Superintendent has to be disciplined and make to work for the job for which he is there. The peon who is a key player in the corruption racket, needs to be replaced. Whispers also make noises in the corridors that the Class IV employees have also to be disciplined, and they are indisciplined because of the support extended to them by the Deputy Superintendent.
Slowly but steadily, things are changing and lets keep our fingers crossed. Hope that Dr. Jamkar proves his mettle as a strong administrator that can bring in cheers to thousands of patients.
So, lets say Jaya Ho Dr. Jamkar.

Ulta Palta Alliance ki Jai Ho

ULTA PALTA ALLIANCE KI JAI HO
Oh, I am not talking here of the whispers doing rounds in the Sassooon and BJ Medical College, Pune of the Congress led United Progessive Alliance (UPA) political party in New Delhi that runs the Central government, but of the Ulta Palta Alliance that exists over here. This alliance is more of a powerful group that raises its head based on casteism, supported and guided by two senior bureaucrats Mr. Alhat and Ramkhambe of the Medical Education Department, and who hail from Bhor taluka and Hadapsar suburb of Pune.

Whispers and gossips of these two senior bureaucrats frequenting the Sassoon and BJ Medical College regularly during their trips to Pune and going to dine with the Dean, Dr. Arun Jamkar is no secret. But what important gossip is heard is that a powerful lobby of doctors that consist Dr. Ghorpade, HOD, Chest and TB, Dr. Sanjiv Thakur, HOD, Surgery, Dr. Bartake, Associate Professor, Orthopaedics, Dr. Gaikwad, Associate Professor, Chest and TB, Dr. P.B. Burute, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Sassoon, Dr. Mhaske, HOD, Skin and VD, and several other doctors from the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste, are active, trying to settle scores using their casteist card to browbeat doctors and senior officials including the Dean of the College. This is a dangerous trend and is destroying the fabric of the hospital and instituion. This element of danger should end at the earliest, before it causes damage to one the the biggest hospital in the country.

It's so sorry and pity to watch relatives of the patients push the stretecher trollies all around the hospial instead of the Class IV servants, who are constantly absent and no action is being taken by the hospital administration to discipline them and make them accountable. Rumors, gossip and whispers put the blame on the Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Burute, who is alleged to be protecting these elements.

Neither the Chief Minister, nor any of his cabinet colleagues are interested to set the things right. Even Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly or Council, turn a blind eye to the going ins in the hospital corridors or the college. The secretary of the MED, a bureaucrat, is also not bothered as to what the hell the patients and their relatives go through in the hospital. What is his interest, if not the hospital and medical college?

Corruption is wide spread, its wide open. You can see the peons Chandu, Chavan, Mate, Kumbhar and Balu, haggling with patients or their relatives to get their work done at a price. I once heard recently Chandu and his lot making fun of the Medical Superintendent Dr. P.S. Pawar. "This Pawarsaheb is a big joker. He is a stupid person, talks lots of nonsense, sits with his legs across, as if he is sitting for lunch or dinner in house. He makes everyone run for no reason. He disputes with his Senior RMO Dr. Shetty. argues with him loudly. And joining his chorus are other idiots like Dr. Dhase, Lad, Shinde, Todmal, Thikekar, etc. Everyone is laughing at this unique character Pawarsaheb," said Chandu.

"Arre, forget all, your boss is big joke all around in the hospital and college. He makes you, Kumbhar and Chavan, do errand jobs of distributing his fake medicine Madhusar, and you people run all around the world for him," said Balu, the peon of Dr. Burute. The other peon Chavan chipped in " Our boss is more interested in making money out of the medical bills. Huge money is taken on the pretext that it has to be shared with the Minister and other officials. God knows the truth."

So many things, so many scams and frauds, corruption and indiscipline is happenning in the Sassoon and BJ Medical College, crores of rupees are being missapropriated, files are missing, everything illegal is taking place, and the government is sleeping. The Ulta Palta Alliance (UPA) group is getting more and more strong by each day. And why not, because they have God fathers right in the Ministry.

God help us all.

The "BIG MOUTH' Dr. Jyoti Dhase

The "BIG MOUTH" Dr. Jyoti Dhase
No one has been spared from her poisionous outburts and rattlings. A known rumor monger, she is the talk in the corridors of both the BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital. A little fact, she can churn it out into the dangerous campaign and bad mouthing. She can set any house on fire and can even create a Mahabharata, says a little bird in the hospital.

Her speciality is known widely. She has the ability to twist facts, throw trantrum, is a dramatic, can shed crocidile tears and try to generate sympathy. She throws weight and call big names as her supporters. A doctor said that Dr. Jyoti Dhase is a confirmed liar. In hushed tones, whispers do round that she and her husband had minted money from even doctors, forget patients for doing bill works and medical certificates.

God help us all from such 'glorious' doctors in Sassoon General Hospital, where the mission of doctors like Dhase is not to serve the community - the poor patients, but to mint and mint money. Who will discipline such doctors? is the billin dollar question.

Dr. Dinesh Shetty's departure - Big Blow to Poor Patients

Everyone who heard that the most affable, lovable, kind, generous, helpful and most popular doctor ever in the Sassoon General Hospital, Dr. Dinesh Dayanand Shetty, has put in his paper and opted for Voluntary Retirement Scheme after a decade of service in the state Public Health Department, after being frustrated at the happenings in the hospital, people just could not believe their ears. Shock stunned colleagues, friends, well wishers, hordes of politicians, judges, police officers, IAS bureaucrats as also thousands of poor patients, found element of surprise in this move of Dr. Shetty.

"Oh, no", were the first words that echoed out of the mouth of a powerful NCP minister, this is a disaster for the Sassoon hospital, he said and appealed that Dr. Shetty, who is popularly known as "Father Teresa" amongst the patients, should withdraw the VRS. Yet, three other legislators from the Congress, BJP and NCP, felt that Dr. Shetty, a gem of a doctor, should reconsider his decision, as it would be more of a loss to the thousands of patients.

Several politicians, doctors, social activists, journalists and patients have spoken out that they would request and insist the state government not to accept the VRS of Dr. Dinesh Shetty. " I would rather ask the Minister for Public Health, to investigate the cause beyond the VRS of Dr.Shetty, as well I would also ask the Minister of Medical Education, Dr. Rajesh Tope, to deal sternly with elements that have compelled a very capable and lovable doctor like Dr. Shetty to tender VRS, said, another very powerful NCP minister, who has the highest regards, love and respect for Dr. Shetty.

Several heads of department of various faculties in the hospital, very strongly feel, that the departure of Dr. Dinesh Shetty from Sasson hospital, would equally be a very big loss. A Head of the Department of Surgery was heard telling his fellow colleagues that Dr. Shetty's contribution for the upliftment of image of the hospital has been tremendous. " He is blunt, upright, no-nonsense, dauntless and just doctor, the hospital ever had. There will never be a second person like him, perhaps again," the HOD said.

Thousands of patients, doctors and VVIPs would vouch for the integrity of Dr. Shetty. The problem is that his strict disciplinarian attitude has not gone well with one of his superiors and some hostile elements in the administration and other faculties that were involved in alleged corruption. Dr. Shetty was like a thorn in their way. The Class IV employees, whom he took to task for several irregularities and indiscipline, wanted to see him go soonest. so that the decks would be cleared and the stumbling block in their nefarious activities would be removed.

No, a good person like Dr. Shetty, who had worked with complete dedication for the welfare of the poor and the large number of public, should not go, we should not allow, a genius and lovable person like him to put in his paper in frustration.

The state government, the chief minister, the ministers for public health and medical education, as well as the secretary of medical education Mr. Bhushan Gagrani, should intervene personally and find the root cause of all the problems at the BJ Medical College and Sassoon hospital, that are prevailing, and that has lead to the frustration of Dr. Shetty.

Do not wait for things to deteriorate and go in a hell like situation. A public awakening and awareness of the situation at this place is the call of the day. Hoe you are listening Mr. Gagrani!!

The "Boss" is like a Diaper in the institution

The Dean of the BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, Dr. Arun Jamkar is mocked all around in the institution. Gossip about his being an failed administrator and his being unable to take decisions on his own is the butt of joke.

Doctors and staff members gossip in the corridors of the hospital that Dr. Arun Jamkar, despite his several years of experience, including his glorious stay at one place of posting here for more than 28 years, cannot take decision on his own and had is fully dependent and rely on his Chief Administration Officer Bardare. This explains his administrative incompetence to handle matters independently.

Gossip also do rounds that the Dean Dr. Arun Jamkar is also dependent for taking decisions on his Steno Mrs. Nair and Office Superintendent Mrs. Godse. The other incompetence of the Dean is that he does not take his two Administrative Officers Mr. KT Sukase and Mrs. Pathan into confidence nor consults them either. This again reflects on his failed skills as and efficient administrator.

In his present tenure, after being shunted out after 28 years to Kolhapur, Dr. Jamkar has managed to come back to his favorite place Pune again after a short tenure of 6 months in Kolhapur. This is a big blow and makes fun of the law on transfers. But then Dr. Jamkar has god fathers in the Medical Education Department, including the secretary Dr. Bhsuhan Gagrani, and the ad-hoc director of Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Dr. Wasudeo Tayade. Whispers are also heard that since Dr. Jamkar hails from Nanded, the home town of present chief minister Ashok Chavan, he has also been favored in his posting back to Pune by the chief minister. Some doctors in the hospital had taken up this issue of his transfer back to Pune with the veteran social activist Shri. Anna Hazare and had even met and briefed him at Ralegaon Siddhi on 26 Janaury 2008. At that time Hazare had assured the doctors that he would take up the issue with the Chief Minister during his meeting.

The truth prevails that the administration in BJ Medical College and Sassoon hospital has collapsed completely. No one is seen in uniform, which makes it difficult for the patients to distinguish between doctors, ward boys, staff and the patients. This is because no one is found in uniform with their name badges, no one is in their clinics in the Out Patient Department during the official timings and doctors are found missing for hours, leading to inconveniences to the patients. The Lifts are without lights, the liftmen are missing and patients are sometimes stuck up in the lifts due to overloading of people in the absence of the liftmen.

The Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr.Pandurang Burute, who is responsible for overseeing all this matters, is least concerned, as he is alleged to be favoring and supporting the Class IV employees who are put on duty for these issues. One can see the relatives of the patients themselves pushing the trollies with the patients on it, as the staff deployed for it are not available. The Deputy Medical Superintendent, is more concerned and interested in his other money minting practices, than looking into the job which is assigned for it.

Then this is all happens due to the incompetence and neglect of the administrator, the Dean, Dr. Jamkar. Doctors whispers that if the administration has to be put back on the rails, than several changes have to be affected including the transfer of the Dean, Chief Administrative Officer, and the Deputy Medical Superintendent. The state government has to take serious note of the lapses and poor conditions that are derailing a good medical institution and the hospital.

Can we look positively for a change in the BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital?

Empty Vessels Make More Noises

There are many whispers and gossips that take place in the corridors of the Dean of BJ Medical College as also outside the famous vacant slot of room no. 74. In hushed tones white dress peons can be seen whispering the rot in the office of the Dean, the Medcial Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent. The famous lot of peons Chandu, Chavan, Prashant, Mate, Kumbhar of the Medical Superintendent office, joined by Balu of the Deputy Superintendent office and Shewete of the Surgery Department.

What all they discuss is cranking jokes at their bosses and sharing the illegal wealth through medical bills, handicapped and age certificates. Crossing my path to the other end through the passage I could see these bandicoots pocketing money. I once heard Chandu directing a patient to Balu to get a certificate which was refused by the Medical Superintendent, but for a price - Rs. 500, no less. The deal was done, and Balu said that he would share the money with his boss, who he said has no hesitation in grabbing money openly.

Corruption in Sassoon and BJMC is not a hidden secret, its wide open. Everything is managed. The Deputy Medical Superintendent is rumored to be daring to accept any illegal gratification without any fear of being trapped. I heard the three lot - Chandu, Balu and Chavan whispering that shell out money and anything can be done in the hospital and the college.

Once on a visit to the office of the Medical Superintendent, I found him making angry gestures and speaking loud with equally angry outbursts against Dr. Kakrani and Dr. Kadam. Raising his hands high, he was speaking to a journalist and a few female doctors, stating that he would fix Dr. Kakrani and Dr. Kadam for making a mess of his Madhusar and Pinak drug and creating obstacles. I could hear him making threats that he would take both of them to task before a minister from Baramati. It sounds funny of the Medical Superintendent of using the threatening language against Dr. Kakrani and Dr. Kadam, just because they refused to give him clearance for his Ayurvedic drug without trials and evidence. It appeared that he was acting like empty vessels making more noises.

So its Jai Jai Ho. Mera Bharat Mahan, 100 may se 80 beimaan.

Government should explain if Madhusar underwent trial in Sassoon

A content on a website Madhusar.com claimed that Madhusar, an Ayurvedic drug said to be a wonder drug to cure diabetics was tested and underwent trial in the Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. The website claims that Madhusar has been independently tested by the hospital and has shown incredible results in more than 70 percent of the people who have tried this herbal supplement. The other 30 percent have shown marked improvement.
Anyone with commonsense would question as to the authenticity of the claims. No details have been furnished about the age, religion, locality and the numbers of patients that have undergone the trial, their addresses or their OPD case paper details, the duration of the drug that they took and got cured or reliefed. The mind boggling factor is also that the names of the doctors and their qualifications are not mentioned either.
Whispers doing the round in the hospital say that Madhusar was never independently tested in the Sassoon General Hospital, and neither there are any official hospital records of the patients, or any evidence of their getting cured or reliefed. All the details on the website are fudged and fake claims. The website should have proved the facts of the Madhusar drug by furnishing testimony of some of the patients out of the 70 percent who have benefitted and cured and also about the 30 percent of other patients.
This drug has not been approved by the state government and is not even on the Rate Contract of the Directorate of Medical Educational and Research (DMER) or even of the Public Health Department (PHD) of the state government. Therefore in view of this factor, and without providing any evidence of the success of Madhusar drug, it would be harmful and dangerous to consume it. Definetely it is a risk factor.
Doctors in the hospital are surprised by these fake claims and whispering as to how this drug which was never tested officially in the hospital (it cannot undergo trials without government permission) is allowed to put in such fake claims on the website. The state government should take this seriously and take immediate action as well investigate as to how this drug was allowed to be tested, if at all it is true, without prior government function, and how the people associated with the manufacturing of drugs were making such claims.
We all beleive that no one should be allowed to play with the lives of people, specially with a dangerous disease like diabetes. The Maharashtra government should not sleep over such kind of publicity by the manufacturers of the drug.
There are also whispers in the hospital, that Dr. P.S. Pawar, the Medical Superintendent, of the hospital, who is a partner in the drug manufacturing company and husband of Dr. Geeta Pawar, one of the other partners of the company, has been playing a key role in promoting this alleged fake medicine and exerting undue pressure politically and otherwise on the doctors of the hospital to give clearance to the drug, which is being resisted by doctors of the medicine department. Such an direct and open involvement of an government servant is unethical and against conduct rules of the government.
Any medicine that brings cheers and relief to the patient and alleviate their sufferings is most welcome, but then this cannot be done without several years of trials and proof. And this has not been done by the manufacturers of the Madhusar. Let such people do not play with the lives of people just for milking money.
